The complete Beethoven cycle by Hiro Kurosaki, recorded in 2008 and 2009 on the ACCENT label, is now available in a boxed set. The boxed set is a great pleasure because it is hard to get them in stock as a single set. Beethoven's ten violin sonatas clearly show the process of evolution of the piano and violin, as they each developed their own individuality as instruments. In this recording, WoO.40-42 from the early period are included in the coupling, which makes it easier to understand the evolution of the music. The performance is not only based on ancient instruments, but also on the instruments used. The instruments used are carefully selected from the instruments used in Vienna during Beethoven's time, and are of the appropriate age for each sonata.
