Baritone Christian Gerhaherl is now firmly established as one of the best in the German Lieder world. Inheriting the traditional German Lieder style of Fischer-Dieskau, Gerhaherl dramatically expresses the emotions and interiority hidden in the poems, and delivers matured musicality. The beautifully clear German diction brings out vividly the thoughts and scenes of the composer in each word. The piano accompanist is Gerold Huber, a childhood friend of Gerhaherr's and one of the best Lied accompanists of our time, who is a unique partner who can eloquently convey the various nuances of the piano part in sound while staying in perfect tune with the songs.
