Starting with No. 5 in 1960, Bernstein recorded No. 6 "Pathetique" in 1964, the first three symphonies in 1970, and the complete recording was completed with the re-recording of No. 4 in 1975. All of them are filled with Bernstein's passion to convey the joy of music with all his might, based on his meticulously analyzed interpretations from his multifaceted viewpoint as a composer, which is typical of this period.The powerful sound of the New York Philharmonic of the time, with its lineup of virtuosos in the brass and woodwind parts, is also exceptional, and Columbia Records' renowned "360 Sound" captures it beautifully.
