Claudio Simone is a famous Italian conductor who has led the world of classical music, especially in the world of ancient music. The calm tempo, the moist and lush strings, the soft and lush tutti, and the solo violin with its deep shadows and melancholy sound.... One might say that this is a rich, romantic, and not at all periodic interpretation. But there is something here in Simone's playing that is not sought after by today's period instrumentalists or contemporary performing groups. He sadly passed away in September 2018, but he left behind numerous recordings for the Erato label, recordings that contributed to the rediscovery of Vivirdi's works, which have been highly acclaimed and continue to fascinate classical music fans around the world. Listening to these performances again, you will find that they are carried throughout with the same unrestrained abandon that has characterized the subsequent groups of classical instrumentalists.
