Then they came across the term \"Chorophobia,\" and decided to reverse the irony and break out of their own comfort zone.\n\n\n\nI used to make my work with the intention of making people listen,\" Harm says of his second and third albums, \"but then I realized, 'I don't want to make people listen. \"But then we realized that we were on a journey as producers. But we realized that in our journey as producers, we had been afraid to make dance music.\n\n\n\nBy diving into that fear, Weval has produced its most challenging work to date, and while 2024's \"Night Versions\" EP offered a glimpse in that new direction, it took some time and artistic evolution to break out of its shell in earnest. We wanted to face it in a way that was free and kept us true to ourselves,\" Harm says.By self-identifying as a dance record, I've conversely freed myself from existing categorizations and clichés.\"\n\n\n\nThis freedom to transcend genres manifests itself in the so-called \"guilty pleasure\" elements, fast BPM, big drops, and the use of hi-hats. The title track, which opens the album, begins with the unsettling atmosphere of a 70's horror film, then acid synths are added, and the song flows into an undulating development. It then leads seamlessly into the swirling buildup of \"MOVEMENT\". Meanwhile, \"Just Friends\" is reminiscent of Tame Impala, and the funk-heavy \"Better\" recalls Motown-era records.\n\n\n\nCHOROPHOBIA\" is an album designed to be experienced with others, satisfying longtime fans and reaching new audiences at the same time.
