That same year, he won first prize and the Bach Prize at the Stradivarius International String Competition.\nHe began playing the violin at age 3 and, at age 6, began studying under Joseph Silverstein, former concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. From the age of 9 to 18, she honed her skills under Donald Weilerstein.
