The retro-sounding first single, \"Nineteen Eighty,\" revisits, in a spiritual sense, the days of The Squares, Satriani's first band. He says that early in his career he \"tried to create a cooler, new-wave vibe with less guitar solos and theatrics.\"Now, decades after leaving those goals, he has attempted to re-create what he envisioned back in 1980.
