After studying under Andrés Segovia, the “Emperor of Classical Guitar,” in Spain, Lagosnik won first prize at the ORTF competition in Paris. He subsequently pursued a solo career primarily in Europe while also devoting himself to training the next generation at the Basel Academy of Music and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He is known not only as a master of the classical guitar but also as a virtuoso of the Renaissance lute. This album features a truly colorful program of original works from Spain and South America, as well as piano works by Granados (arranged by his teacher Segovia) and Albéniz (arranged by Lagosnik).
