Bassist\/vocalist Lira Mondal and guitarist Caufield Schnug took their approach a step further with their third album. The central theme of *You Say I Romanticize* is already hinted at in its title. Inspired by the lyrics of “Write Lightly,” the album’s closing track, the album tells a story of how the importance of self-expression through writing is overshadowed by “professionalism.” Many of the characters Mondal portrays here are outsiders who are marginalized by society and passionately devoted to various specific ideologies. The raw songwriting on *YouSayIRomanticize* is characterized by an equally raw musical approach. The band invited live drummer Spenser Gralla to join them in the recording sessions, infusing the tracks with the same sense of urgency found in their live performances.
