China's first complete Bruckner symphonies underway! Liu Jia & China National Academy of Performing Arts Orchestra! Bruckner's Symphony No. 1, which shows his early innovations and explorations as a composer and which he himself is said to have described as a "cheeky little girl," underwent several revisions after its completion in 1866, followed by further major revisions in 1890-91, 24 years after its completion. Liu Jia, the leader of the NCPA Orchestra, carefully studied the many revisions and, recognizing the importance of Bruckner's relationship with the University of Vienna (the university awarded the composer an honorary doctorate, and the composer dedicated his Symphony No. 1 to the university), decided to create the "Vienna Manuscript" (1890/91), which bears the name of Vienna. 1890/91)" was selected.
