Recorded in 1973, following the success of the classic \"Harvest,\" it did not actually see the light of day until almost two years later. The album is also widely known as a tribute to Young's old friends, Crazy Horse guitarist Danny Whittington and roadie Bruce Berry, who both passed away from drugs the year before the recording.\n\n\n\nRecorded on analog tape, TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT contains some of Young's most brilliant and emotionally charged songs. These include two versions of the title track, \"Borrowed Tune,\" \"World on a String,\" \"Mellow My Mind,\" \"Tired Eyes,\" \"Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown,\" \"Albuquerque,\" \"Roll Another Number (For The Road),\" and more.For the 50th Anniversary Edition of TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT, Young has also replaced \"Lookout Joe\" with a previously unreleased \"1973 version\" from the original album session recorded at SIR Studios in 1973.
