Posadas' new release is a masterpiece! Posadas (b.1967) is one of the leading Spanish composers of our time, whose \"Fractal Liturgy\" (12932KAI), already released on the KAIROS label, has already attracted much attention. After studying under Francis Guerrero, he studied electroacoustics at IRCAM in Paris, and at the same time, like Xenakis, he is interested in the latest mathematical theories, trying to develop new music from the viewpoints of both sensibility and science. His works show influences from computer music and spectral music, and his compositions are composed of colorful and textural changes in sustained bands of sound. In \"The Dark Abyss of Tears and Gentleness,\" the echoes reminiscent of gagaku's sho (Japanese court music), the sense of pause, and the sheer energy of a single note are reminiscent of Takemitsu in the 1970s (Winter, Marginalia, Gemaux Part I), while the troubled moans of the Lion Roar evoke the listener's life force. The combination of the tremendous bass and sparkling treble of \"Crypsis\" and the live electronics and ensemble of the latest \"Grossopoeia\" is also superb. A must-listen for fans of contemporary music!
