After a retrial, his sentence was commuted, but he was finally released in 1969 with the support of the German Foreign Ministry and a petition signed by prominent cultural figures from around the world. He subsequently became a German citizen and spent the rest of his life in Germany. The nightmares, horrors, and torture of those years of imprisonment naturally affected Yoon's work, and traces of it can be seen in one of his most beautiful and moving works, the \"Cello Concerto.On the other hand, \"Nolle\" (\"Song\"), written in 1964, has a strong lyricism reminiscent of Debussy's cello sonata in its beauty.
