Paul Simon and band headlined the final day of the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London on July 15, 2012. The three-hour set was hailed by The Guardian as "one of the most memorable concerts in his career. The Daily Telegraph said, "For those of us who grew up listening to Paul Simon, it was a chance to see again the power of music to bring us together, to connect us, to take us to the 'land of Grace. Now available for the first time, "The Concert in Hyde Park" documents the band's historic concert at the 2012 Hard Rock Calling Festival. The setlist includes songs from the Grammy-winning masterpiece "Graceland," which celebrated its 25th anniversary, as well as Paul Simon's enduring hits and fan favorites such as "My Kodachrome," "Me and Julio in the Schoolyard," "50 Ways to Leave Your Girlfriend," and two songs from his Simon & Garfunkel days. The album also features a selection of classic songs from his entire career, including two songs from his Simon & Garfunkel days.Lining up on stage were the original Graceland musicians who had participated in "Graceland" and were reunited (Hugh Masakera, Ladysmith Black Mambarzo, and others), plus a surprise guest, reggae god Jimmy Cliff. Jimmy Cliff performed his original songs "Harder Than I've Ever Heard" and "Far Far Away River" (these two songs are only included in the video production), and he was joined by Paul Simon for "Vietnam". They also performed a duet on the following song, "Mother and Child" to reggae rhythms, which was one of the highlights of the film. A live masterpiece that evokes a sense of the present and nostalgia. The songs range from the Simon & Garfunkel era to the critically acclaimed new album "So Beautiful or So What" from 2011. The Concert in Hyde Park" is a journey through 50 years of Paul Simon's iconic and timeless songbook.
