The repertoire of horn concertos is limited, so this album is noteworthy for its precision recording of the sound of an excellent chamber orchestra. German hornist Felix Krieser, who plays dexterously with his left foot while his horn is fixed to a stand, was born without arms in 1991, but began playing the horn at age 4 and perfected horn playing with his feet at age 13, taking lessons at the Hanover College of Music. 2008 to 2011, he was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Germany. He has performed with conductors such as Rattle, Venzago, and Dennis Russell Davis, and in 2013 released his debut album \"Dreaming\" on Berlin Classics, which made a splash, won the ECHO Award for Young Artist of the Year in 2014, and published a book. 2016.
