A memorial disc for Anne Rose Schmidt, recorded with Switner & SKD in 1963&64, a gem before the completion of the complete works. World's first SACD release! Mastered only in analog domain and converted directly to DSD! This is the 23rd SACD hybrid version of the latest reissue project of ETERNA's original analog tapes in Japan. Concerto complete works with Mazur and the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. In the LP era, some of these recordings were also released under the Fontana label, so it can be said that these recordings are widely known to the general public. This time, the recording has been reissued in high sound quality as a memorial to Annerose Schmidt (1936.10.5-2022.3.10), who passed away in March 2022. This recording was made when A. Schmidt was 26-27 years old, but she had already participated in the Chopin Competition in 1955, won the German Democratic Republic Piano Competition and the International Robert Schumann Competition in 1956, and had been performing in the West since her early 20s! He was also a member of the Chopin Society of America and the International Chopin Competition.Since 1973, he has visited Japan several times. In addition to Mozart, she has recorded albums of Chopin, Brahms, and Schumann, all of which are excellent. Among them, the Mozart recording is highly regarded as a performance that reflects her characteristics perfectly. Her Mozart recordings are as famous as Hebler's as the complete recordings of this period. The sincere attitude of the pianist, which is often applied to pianists from the former East Germany, as well as her emphasis on the music, makes this recording highly reliable even today, and I can safely recommend it among the many complete works. The 1963 & 1964 recordings are no exception, and the piano is even more simple. The reissue from the original analog master tapes in the country of origin has more resolution, richness of overtones including strings, and thickness of sound. It is not only beautiful, but the overall balance, including the atmosphere, is exquisitely harmonious. This is truly a gem of a performance. (2/2)
