As a folk musician who plays the Hardanger fiddle, she also serves as the leader of the Valdres Folk Music Ensemble. Her mother and father, Endre, met in the folk music community. Her sister, Elbjørg, is a violinist, and her brother, Andris, is a violinist and Hardanger fiddle player. Her husband, Halgrímur Hanségø, is a dancer and choreographer.\n\n\u003civyn odland\u003e\nBorn in Bergen in 1956, he is a renowned Norwegian conductor who has guest-conducted orchestras around the world. He is also a passionate advocate for Norwegian music and has recorded numerous works by composers such as Ilgens Jensen, Bør, Groven, Johansen, and Nordheim. He is also dedicated to educational projects for young conductors, as well as the Iceland Symphony Orchestra Youth Orchestra and the youth orchestras in Oslo and Bergen.
