Silvestri composed a great deal of music, but his piano music is of particular interest because of his reputation as a pianist. Silvestri's style has an Eastern European flavor, with folk music from his native Romania as its source, and the influence of Bartók and his senior pianist, Enesco, can be felt. The \"Romanian Folk Dances of Transylvania,\" based on material originally scored by Bartók, was originally orchestrated and arranged for solo piano by Louisa Bolak, and the \"Third Suite,\" composed in 1933, is unique. The more interesting is the arrangement for piano solo by Phil Upchuck, which is also a work by Silvestri. Even more interesting is the inclusion of Enesco's unfinished piano concerto as a filler piece. It was written in 1897, when he was 16 years old, and only one unfinished movement remains.The theme is from the Gregorian chant \"The Day of Wrath,\" a beautiful work in the late Romantic style, influenced by Romanian folk and Gypsy music, and processed with Rachmaninov's brilliant pianism. This 12-minute live performance of the public premiere is extremely rare. The other fill-up is a new world premiere recording by the living maestro Kurtág. One of them was written in 2017 for his wife's 90th birthday celebration. Louisa Borac (piano) is a pianist born in Romania in 1968. She won both the Mendelssohn International Piano Competition and the Viotti International Competition.
