It grew out of the Munich Bach Orchestra, the internationally renowned ensemble founded by Karl Richter in 1953, and performs with flexible instrumental forces designed to encompass the great masterpieces of the Classical and Romantic eras.\n- Gerd Schaller\nBorn in Bamberg in 1965, Schaller began his conducting career at the Hannover State Opera in 1993, moving to the Braunschweig State Theatre in 1998 and serving as General Music Director of the Theater Magdeburg from 2003 to 2006 - a maestro who came up through the opera house.
