Sven-Eckhard Bechtolf’s production sets the secret trysts in a hotel; while the time period has been reinterpreted, the staging feels natural and authentic. The rest of the cast is also outstanding: Luca Pisaroni, appearing here for the second time following his role in *Cosi*, delivers a fine performance with a light, witty, and seductive voice. Anette Fritsch, though still in her twenties, possesses a dramatic vocal tone.
