The 13th competition, held in 2009, made headlines when Nobuyuki Tsujii became the first Japanese pianist to win the title. This documentary focuses on the 14th competition, held in 2013, capturing everything from behind-the-scenes moments to the winners’ journeys after the competition. The courage of young people in their early 20s to take the stage in front of an audience of 2,000—and hundreds of thousands more watching online—their efforts to tackle virtuosic piano pieces, and the stamina and mental fortitude required to compete over three weeks: this competition is a grueling race that tests contestants in every way. It vividly captures the dazzling talent, as well as the anguish and inner struggles, of the young pianists taking on the competition.\nBonus features include footage of the contestants six months later, interviews with participants, and performance clips of the 14th edition’s winners: gold medalist Vadim Kholodenko, silver medalist Beatrice Rana, and bronze medalist Sean Chen.\nKing International\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"EuroArts","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595488256289,"sku":"880242612847","price":5490.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/880242612847.jpg?v=1790481312","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/880242612847","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
