It is a drama of love and hatred centered on Emperor Nero and his mistress Poppea, telling a story where “love forgives and transcends all,” yet ultimately ends with the triumph of evil. The performance begins with a French introduction: “Good evening, everyone. It is a great honor for me to tell the story of Poppea and Nero.” Drawing on this powerful narrative, Spuck has created a stimulating production that incorporates experimental choreography, video projections, and narration.
