Roger formed a piano trio with Mie Kobayashi and Yoko Hasegawa in 1995 to mark the 150th anniversary of Fauré’s birth. The trio of Roger, Kobayashi, and Hasegawa has previously performed in Japan, and their performances have been met with rave reviews. Violinist Mie Kobayashi is the 1990 winner of the Long-Thibaud International Competition, and cellist Yoko Hasegawa is a recipient of a Special Prize at the Rostropovich International Cello Competition—both are promising young Japanese female musicians.
