Jorge Bolet – 1985 Paris Recital Vol. 1\nWith his virtuosity and artistry, Bolet is truly magnificent!\nSound quality from Radio France that rivals Decca’s recordings\n\nThe first half of the recital given by the piano giant Bollett in Paris on January 31, 1985. The performance is truly magnificent, and the recording features impeccable sound quality. This live performance by Bollett is truly exquisite. The complete recording of this legendary Paris concert will be released in Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Jorge Bollet was a pro-American Cuban born in Havana in 1914. He studied piano with Godowsky and conducting with Fritz Reiner at the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an American citizen. After the war, he was stationed in Japan as the U.S. Army Music Director for the General Headquarters (GHQ), where he conducted the Japanese premiere of Sullivan’s masterpiece, *The Mikado*, in Tokyo. After his discharge, he worked as a pianist in the United States, where, strangely enough, he was not highly regarded by critics. In 1978, he signed with Decca and began making numerous recordings, eventually achieving worldwide fame. He passed away in 1990, but this 1985 live recording from Paris demonstrates that his technical prowess had not diminished; it is a masterpiece of exquisite artistry and skill.\nSPECTRUMSOUND\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Spectrum Sound","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52699435893025,"sku":"8800284450575","price":3141.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/8800284450575.jpg?v=1779022625","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/8800284450575","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
