Disc 1 features Savallish’s performance of Smetana’s *My Homeland*. *My Homeland* is a work that symbolizes the festival and has been an indispensable part of the program since the first festival in 1946. Since 1952, it has graced the opening concert. Initially, performances of this work were limited to Czech musicians, but beginning with the Slovak Philharmonic’s debut in 1978, Matacic made his debut as the first foreign conductor in 1984. Furthermore, while the Czech Philharmonic had long been responsible for the opening concert, in 1993 the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic (conducted by Libor Pešek) was selected as the first foreign orchestra to perform there. In the 1986 opening concert featured on this album, Germany’s Wolfgang Sawallisch (1923–2013) appeared as the second foreign conductor. Savallish, who had a deep interest in Czech music, performed around the world on the strength of his international reputation and frequently appeared at the “Prague Spring Music Festival,” where he played an important role.\nThis album also includes another recording featuring a performance by Erich Reinsdorf (1912–1993). Born in Vienna, Austria, and based in the United States, Reinsdorf appeared frequently at the “Prague Spring Music Festival” beginning in 1966; during his final performance there in 1988, he conducted Martinů’s *Symphonic Fantasy*. This album features his 1987 performance of the *German Requiem* with the Czech Philharmonic, with Roberta Alexander and Thomas Allen as soloists. Reinsdorf’s intelligent interpretation, with its meticulous attention to every detail of the work, offers listeners new discoveries and a deeper understanding.\nRADIOSERVIS\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Radio Servis","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53082768179489,"sku":"8595738613100","price":3742.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/8595738613100.jpg?v=1785152945","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/8595738613100","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
