Mozart (1756-1791)

Description:

Memorable debut album by Kyoko Kato (clarinet), released in 2003. She was a graduate student at the Munich State University of Music and Performing Arts. She is proud to present this CD with the Stamitz String Quartet, with whom she had a close family relationship and performed "Stadler" not only in the Czech Republic and Munich, but also in Japan. T. Herbrugge, professor emeritus at the University of Munich and doctor of fine arts, said, "As an outstanding artist, she has sublimated Western Mozart into her own style and presented it to us in an outstanding way. This is an honor for all music lovers in Japan. Beautiful Mozart, rich and resonant, resonates with the inner world of music, sharp and deep. Janacek's music cuts sharply and deeply into the inner world of the music. Schubert's music is like the soul, beautifully and sadly shimmering. We hope that this wonderful album will reach as many people as possible. The Stamitz String Quartet was formed in Prague in 1985 in honor of Johann Wenzel Stamitz, a Bohemian composer from the same region. Since winning the first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition (Salzburg, 1986), the quartet has attracted much attention and their performances have been highly acclaimed internationally, including at the Prague Spring, and many CDs have already been released. Kyoko Kato (clarinet) was born in Kyoto. Graduated from Musashino Academia Musicae and its graduate school. Completed graduate studies at the Munich University of Music.Obtained Meister Diploma. Studied clarinet under U. Rodenhäuser, K. Berkesch, Masaharu Yamamoto, Yoshiomi Kuroiwa, and Hiroshi Yanase, and piano under Yoko Eguchi. While still a university student, he performed throughout Asia, the U.S., and Europe. In recent years, he has been involved in playing ancient musical instruments, and has been focusing on introducing many buried masterpieces as a clarinet duo with Yokota Yoriko, specially-appointed associate professor at Tokyo University of the Arts.
