Beginning in the 1920s, he composed film scores, including music for early Disney films. In 1933, he was expelled by the Nazis and emigrated to the United States in 1939. There, he became close friends with Brecht and composed numerous pieces of theater music. He also wrote a great deal of music for propaganda in the German Democratic Republic, but he himself was an advocate of Socialist Realism and devoted himself to introducing avant-garde music by composers such as Henze and Schnittke. If you actually listen to his music, you’ll find it surprisingly accessible. Take, for example, “Dance and Song” or “Examen.” These are delightful pieces that would fit perfectly into an animated film without seeming out of place at all.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Capriccio","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595409121569,"sku":"845221050195","price":2790.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/845221050195.jpg?v=1790481010","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/845221050195","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
