Savard releases his first Schubert album! With Beethoven (AVSA9937 (Nos. 1-5) and 9946 (Nos. 6-9)), Savard has brought the world Beethoven's symphonies as fresh as if they had just been born anew. This Schubert, too, is a work of great renown, but it is a Schubert unlike any other, backed by Savard's unique perspective on the score and the composer. The ears, experience, and sensibility of Savard and the members of Le Concert des Nations, who can be said to have lived through the history of music, have created a \"newborn\" performance in which one can truly feel the fresh handwriting and ink smell of Schubert's score, and even his body temperature. It is truly a vivid and mysterious Schubert, as if one can smell the air of the time and feel the enthusiasm of the orchestra of the time.In choosing the title \"Transfiguration,\" Savard referred to a short poem-like text written by Schubert, \"When I sing about love, it becomes suffering. When I sing about suffering, it becomes love.\" Referring to the unfathomable breadth of the inner and spiritual world of Schubert's music, he says that there is not a moment when he is not amazed by the miraculous music created by Schubert's pen. The listener is also surprised and moved by Savard's thoughts, discoveries, realizations, and inspirations, and by his skill in putting them into actual sound and making them resonate.
