As the title suggests, the work dealt with literal themes such as drug use, gender identity, Catholicism, and existentialism. Shortly thereafter, Spike was swept up in a whirlwind of unexpected success. From impromptu performances on Melbourne trams and underground warehouse parties to catching the eye of Rick Owens, dressing in high fashion, speaking candidly about his life in interviews, and appearing in magazine photo shoots, his rise was meteoric. Then, just as he was on the verge of breaking out, Spike suddenly vanished. His recent return to performing—with three sold-out shows in Los Angeles and two in New York—proves that Spike has established a solid foothold in the underground scene. SpikeFuck has signed with Sacred Bones Records and will release his long-awaited debut album, *evidence*, on October 2. Although plans were initially underway to release his debut album *PureO*, which had been shelved, Spike was driven by an irresistible urge to complete *evidence* and bring it to the world.
