In the Concerto for Two Harpsichords, the second harpsichord is played by the Italian soloist and ensemble leader, Francesco Corti, and the second harpsichord is played by the Italian soloist and ensemble leader, Il Pomo d'Oro, who has also made a name for himself as an ensemble leader. In the concerto for two harpsichords, the second harpsichordist is the young Italian harpsichordist Andrea Buccarella, who has also emerged as a soloist and ensemble leader in Italy. In BWV 1059, Corti recreates Cantata No. 35 as a concerto for harpsichord, oboe, and strings in a reworked version that Corti himself developed over several years in discussions with musicologists.
