The groove he creates is called \"SAMBA DOIDO\" (meaning \"crazy samba\"). He uses samba instruments such as tamborines and pandeiro on his drum set, and fuses samba with jazz and space-age electronic music. In 2008, he released the album \"Sujinho\" under the name \"Jackson Conti\" with Madlib. His original grooves have attracted not only Brazilian music fans and rare groove fans, but also hip-hop and other club music fans. Before his career as a member of Azimuth, Mamão was a member of the Young Stars, a band active in the Joven Guarda movement, where he experimented with tape delays and other techniques.\n\n\n\nThis is a big deal because it is the first solo album in a long time by Mamawong, a legend who embodies such a diverse musical style.
