She studied under Benedetto Rupo at the Nino Rota Conservatory in Monopoli and earned her degree in piano at the age of 16. She also studied composition with Marco della Suica. At the same time, she participated in master classes held in Italy, France, and the United States, studying under such distinguished figures as Belovchikolini, Yashinski, Tiorie, and Vilsaradze. She placed in the 2011 Montreal International Competition and has won awards in many other competitions; in June 2013, she won second prize and the Audience Prize at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. This performance cemented her reputation. She has already performed with orchestras around the world and given recitals in numerous concert halls. She has released an album featuring Chopin’s Preludes and Scriabin’s Sonatas (ATMA); however, this new album—recorded with the renowned conductor Antonio Pappano and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia—features Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, allowing her to fully showcase both her technical prowess and musicality.
