The ensemble is part of the local parish activities of the Church of Sweden, and its main objective is to promote new choral works with religious content by contemporary Swedish composers, either through commissioning or collaboration. Founder Rikard Lindberg Karlsson studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Anders Ebüe and others, and holds a master's degree in musicology from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He is considered one of the new generation of conductors. His debut album is \"Sing, Our Songs\" (BIS SA 2237), a collection of religious songs by Alice Tegnere and Gustav Nudqvist, released under the name \"Dandereid Vocal Ensemble. The title of the new album, \"Et in terra,\" is usually followed by the word \"pax. Latin for \"peace. We turned our minds to Erich Maria Remarque's novel, \"No Change on the Western Front,\" which recounts the horrors of the First World War.Although it has been more than 100 years since the end of the war, the sense of what the war caused still remains today. This album is based on that concept, and the program begins with \"Mass in G minor\" written by Vaughan Williams in England between 1920 and 1921, after the war, and continues with works by five Swedish composers. Kjell Perder's \"Free the Oppressed,\" which \"professes to love humanity and to stand on the side of the weak. Paula af Malmborg Ward's \"As in a field hides a treasure,\" based on the \"Parable of the 'Kingdom of Heaven'\" (chapter 13, verse 44) from the Gospel of Matthew. Staffan Isback's \"Little Mass\" with \"Kyrie,\" \"Gloria,\" \"Credo,\" \"Sanctus,\" and \"Agnus Dei,\" which Staffan Isback says \"took melody as a starting point rather than harmony or resonance. Emil Raberg's \"Gloria,\" based on a poem by Bo Ejeby, which shows \"honest joy and gratitude for the gift of life.The text of the Gospel reading from \"Lord of the Roses\" and the melody of the Gregorian chant \"Agnus Dei\" from \"Come! and \"Three Sacramental Motets\" by David Aberg, based on the Gregorian chant \"Agnus Dei\".
