The trilogy was first performed in the U.S. after abandoning Europe, which was the main battleground during World War I. The trilogy has been performed at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York since 1918. The trilogy had previously been performed in the order of \"The Cloak,\" \"Angelica the Nun,\" and \"Gianni Schicchi,\" but this time, director Christoph Roy changed the order in which they had been performed since the first performance.
