Bregenz is located at the westernmost tip of Austria, near the borders of Germany and Switzerland. Funded by wealthy citizens and launched in 1946, this music festival sets up a stage on Lake Constance to present spectacular operas that fuse the traditional art form of opera with cutting-edge technology, as well as new productions by up-and-coming directors and and lesser-known operas are performed over the course of four weeks, capturing the attention of opera fans worldwide. This footage features Rossini’s sacred tragedy *Moses in Egypt*, which weaves a love story between Osiride, the son of the Pharaoh, and Elchia, a Hebrew girl, into the Old Testament narrative of the prophet Moses leading the Hebrew people out of Egypt. The opera premiered in Naples in 1818. After Rossini moved his base of operations to Paris, he adapted it into a French opera titled *Moses and Pharaoh*, which premiered in Paris in 1927 to great acclaim. Although the Naples version had been forgotten for some time, it has been reevaluated in recent years as an ambitious work by the young Rossini. The production is directed by Lotte de Beer, who won the Newcomer Award at the 2015 International Opera Awards in the Netherlands and, as of 2018, is in high demand worldwide. She is joined on stage by the Dutch theater collective Compagnie Hotel Modern. They use animation to visually depict large-scale scenes while simultaneously bringing the story of the people and the slaves to life on stage. Employing miniature cameras, thousands of puppets, models of villages and cities, and a massive aquarium installation, they portray Moses’ journey across the Red Sea in a spectacular production. The Vienna Symphony Orchestra performs under the baton of Enrique Mazzola. The cast includes Goran Jurić from Croatia as Moses. Pharaoh is played by the established British singer Andrew Foster-Williams. Oziride is portrayed by the South African black tenor Sunnyboy Drodra, among other up-and-coming singers.\nKing International\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"C Major","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53525319614753,"sku":"814337014483","price":8190.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/814337014483.jpg?v=1789730806","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/814337014483","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
