With a flexible lineup consisting primarily of OVPP singers and instrumentalists, the ensemble focuses on Iberian polyphony, pre-Reformation Tudor music, and early Baroque music. Co-founder and Artistic Director Toby Ward studied at King’s College, Cambridge, and the Royal College of Music, among other institutions. He serves as organist at the National Musicians’ Church and St. Sepalcar’s Church, is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists, and a Tenor Associate Artist with the Tenebre Choir.\nEnsemble Pro Victoria is acclaimed for its sincere scholarly approach and high-quality performances; for example, its 2021 album commemorating the 500th anniversary of Robert Fairfax’s death (DCD34265) was nominated for a Gramophone Award. Their second release on Delphian compiles forgotten “later” music from the Tudor era.
