Intense, blazing, superb concertos by Vivaldi, Tartini and Locatelli, including world premiere recordings of restored versions! One of the standard-bearers of the new generation of Baroque violinists, a rising star of the ancient music world, concertmaster and core member of the Florilegium, Arcangelo, the Ancient Chamber Orchestra, and the EU Baroque Orchestra, led by Rachel Podger's Brecon Baroque, The Illyria Consort is a period ensemble founded by Bojan Cicic to explore the hidden music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Bojan Cicic \u0026amp; his Consort have explored the unknown repertoire of Carbonelli (PDCD34194, PDCD34214) and Giornović (PDCD34219), and have been selected as \"Semi-Specialist\" by Record Art and \"Chamber Choice\" by BBC Music Magazine. This new recording by the Illyria Consort is a collection of violin concertos by such masters as Vivaldi, Tartini, and Locatelli, including the world premiere recording of a restored version of one of their works. In these four gorgeous violin concertos, \"the last movement of which ends in a capriccio,\" Vivaldi takes the art of violin soloism to the extreme, and the virtuosity of the violin, which blazes like fireworks.
