Relive the Mass of the 18th century! This album features the works of Francesco Giovannini (1709/11-1775), music director of the Church of Santa Maria in Campitelli, Italy in the 18th century. The question is what is the best way to reproduce the Mass music discovered in Giovannini's archives at the Convent of the Blessed Virgin. The album was recorded after coming to the conclusion that the best way to do so would be to reproduce the Mass as it was celebrated in the 18th century. In accordance with the customs of the time, there are readings and Gregorian chants between the masses, as well as works by Bernardo Pasquini and Domenico Zipoli, allowing the listener to relive the masses of Giovannini's time through this album.
