Conducted by Antonini of Il Giardino Armonico!\nDynamic’s latest release from the Royal Walloon Opera is Cimarosa’s *The Secret Marriage*, renowned as a masterpiece of opera buffa. This opera premiered in Vienna in 1792 and is such a masterpiece that Emperor Leopold II, so captivated by its humor, ordered it to be performed again immediately after the first show. The plot is simple: Carolina, the daughter of the wealthy merchant Geronimo, is secretly married to her servant, Paolino. However, Count Robinson—who was supposed to marry Carolina’s older sister, Elisetta (the count is after her money, while Geronimo is after a title)—falls in love with Carolina at first sight, and to make matters worse, Geronimo’s older sister, the matronly Fidarma, begins to pursue Paolino. Geronimo, who had been angry with the Count, eventually compromises when told that if he can marry Carolina, half the dowry will suffice. After much turmoil, Paolino and Carolina decide to elope, but the Count and Elisetta catch up with them, and in the end, Carolina and Paolino’s relationship is revealed. The two are forgiven, the Count marries Elisetta as planned, and all ends happily.\nThe conductor for this performance was Antonini, renowned as the leader of *Il Giardino Armonico*. His crisp musical direction was exactly what one would expect from someone who has led such a prestigious early music ensemble. The heroine, Carolina, was played by Forte, a soprano famous for her beauty. With her excellent singing and striking appearance, she was simply flawless. Aldo Caputo was born in Bari in 1980. He specializes in works by Rossini and others. Geronimo is played by Rinaldi, a veteran singer born in 1939. He is a renowned baritone who sang the role of Figaro in the Vienna State Opera’s 1986 tour of Japan for *The Marriage of Figaro*. Although he was 68 years old at the time of this performance, he was in truly fine form. The role of Count Robinson is sung by Cassi, who received high praise for his portrayal of Belcore in *L’elisir d’amore* during the Bergamo Donizetti Theater’s tour of Japan this past January. Paralafella’s direction incorporates elements that will make you laugh spontaneously within a traditional stage setting, making it the perfect introduction to *The Secret Marriage*.\nKing International\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Dynamic","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53530754253089,"sku":"8007144336318","price":6290.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/8007144336318.jpg?v=1789819026","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/products\/8007144336318","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
