Cellist Tim Posner, winner of the Thierry Schertz Prize at the Gstaad Music Festival 2023, has recorded Bloch, Bruch, and Dohnányi. The Gstaad Music Festival is held in Gstaad, Switzerland (a mountain village famous for the \"Goldendepas Line,\" a spectacular panoramic railroad line that crosses Switzerland), and is known for attracting talented young musicians from around the world. The \"Thierry Schertz Prize\" was established as a tribute to Thierry Schertz, one of the founders of the festival.One participant is awarded the opportunity to record and release a CD on the CLAVES label. Timothy Ridout (2019 laureate) on violin, Anastasiya Kobekina (2018 laureate) on cello, Anaïs Godoumard (2015 laureate) on harp, Josef Mork (2006 laureate) on piano, and Emmanuel Seysson (2005 laureate) on harp. Born in 1995, Posner was the first Englishman to win the Carl Davidoff International Cello Competition. He has performed with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Mozart Players.
