As usual, the music—which made full use of virtuosic techniques and incorporated a wealth of traditional Hungarian folk songs (or at least what Liszt believed to be such)—certainly captured the hearts of the audience. Composer Franz Doppler was among those captivated by the piece; he arranged several of these pieces for orchestra (the numbers do not necessarily correspond to the original works), transforming them into even more brilliant music.
