This album pairs Tobias’s choral works with those of the German master Max Reger, who was born in the same year. Reger, a prolific composer, struck a good balance between sacred and secular works in the choral repertoire; here, however, the selection focuses particularly on his “sacred” works. This successfully highlights the contrast with Tobias’s works. The choir is the highly accomplished Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.
