Since then, they have devoted themselves to string quartet activities and have won accolades in more than 40 countries for their exquisite ensemble and authentic, lucid interpretations.With a vast repertoire of about 200 works by 55 composers, the quartet has been actively performing a wide range of works from Mozart and Beethoven to contemporary and arranged works, and has already produced a number of CDs. Their current work in progress is the complete Haydn string quartets.\n\nThis time it is the \"Russian Quartet,\" Op. 33, composed in 1781 when Haydn was 50 years old, and published by Altaria in April 1782, consisting of six string quartets dedicated to the Grand Duke of Russia. This disc contains three of the six pieces. Op. 33-2 is called \"Jest\" because of the unique ending of the fourth movement.
