The three-dimensional sound created by the interplay between these two instruments, positioned at a distance from one another, vividly recreates the musical space of that era.\nThe program consists primarily of canzonas by Giovanni Battista Grillo and Pietro Lappi, along with dance pieces, toccatas, ricercars, and keyboard arrangements of works originally by Adrian Willaert. While these pieces were not necessarily written for two organs, this recording features arrangements based on that specific configuration.\nThe performers are Montserrat Trent (aged 100!), a leading figure in Spain and a veteran who has long been at the forefront of research and performance on historical organs, and Matteo Bonfilioli, an Italian organist active in both performance and research based on historical performance practice. Combining a deep understanding of historical styles with rich musicality, the two artists paint a musical dialogue that transcends time and space.
