Tragoedia\" is highly acclaimed for its combination of classical and contemporary moods, intense violence, and fragile power, and for presenting a new sensibility in British music. The Nash Ensemble, founded in 1964, the same year \"Tragoedia\" was composed, has recorded Birtwistle's chamber works! The Nash Ensemble is a virtuoso group that serves as the resident chamber ensemble of Wigmore Hall. As a variable ensemble, the Nash Ensemble performs a wide variety of works and compositions, and has given over 300 world premieres.
