Two are by Loyset Compère (c.1445-1518) of Artois in northern France: the motet \"Crux triumphans\", on a late medieval devotional text, and \"Officium de cruce\", thought to date from the 1470s, when he was attached to the court of Galeazzo Maria Sforza, Duke of Milan (its texts drawn from the Epistle to the Philippians, the Good Friday antiphons and the fourteenth-century hymn \"Patris sapientia\").
