The latest recording of Beethoven's complete piano concertos for fortepiano! Ronald Brautiham, the prodigious fortepiano player, will release his recording of the complete piano concertos in time for the Beethoven year of 2020! Brautigam completed recordings of Beethoven's complete works for solo piano between 2003 and 2015, earning critical acclaim for his lively and articulate approach. He performs with the Cologne Academy led by Michael Alexander Virens, with whom he has a strong relationship. The orchestra's recordings of Mozart and Mendelssohn have attracted much attention. The instrument used is a fortepiano made by Paul McNulty, a replica of the instrument used in the period when the music was composed.Regarding the use of McNulty-made instruments in his performances and recordings, Brautiham says, \"McNulty not only studies old instruments and creates them anew, but playing the replicas he has made gives me new inspiration in terms of performance interpretation. He says, \"I find that by using the instrument in the best condition that Brautigam can imagine, he creates a very natural atmosphere. Beethoven's Piano Concerto also showcased Brautiham and the Cologne Academy's propulsive and lush playing. Here is a definitive recording with fortepiano playing!
