The Korngold piece, written for Heifetz, is a popular work that has recently been taken up by many famous composers for its brilliant orchestration and rich melodies in the style of Hollywood movie music. Baris Dvarionas (1897-1957), composer of the national anthem of the Republic of Lithuania in the Soviet Union and a leader of Lithuanian music in the postwar period, was awarded the Stalin Prize for his typical socialist realist music, full of melodies in the style of Lithuanian folk songs, and passionate and moving. It is a music that evokes strange emotions and cannot be listened to without tears. The reliable accompaniment by his father, Järvi, is also noteworthy.
