The second movement of Takano’s work is titled “The Only Flower in the World,” which is also the title of a smash hit by SMAP. She explained that, resonating with the story of creator Noriyuki Makihara—who made a comeback despite being criticized for a scandal—she wanted to express how the weak, who are sacrificed in the face of great power, each possess their own life (song). Bezari effortlessly masters every challenging passage, brilliantly bringing to life the emotions of three women from the former Soviet Union, Western Europe, and the East. The Gubaidulina work features the same recording as BIS-SA-1449.
