An album inspired by the words of Debussy. This album was created by two young Dutch performers. They initiated this project after thinking about Debussy's words, "Music is not in the notes, but in the silence between the notes. Silence is like a blank canvas, and the composer creates music out of that silence. The listener then interprets what he or she hears again. In between, there is silence, and the silence is captured as space. This album is about that process, the interpretation of interpretation. In addition to works by Debussy, Poulenc, and Stravinsky, the album includes "The Distance of the Fairy" composed by Toru Takemitsu based on Shuzo Takiguchi's poem of the same title.
